There are many network sites like XING, facebook, twitter etc, everyone is claming they are generating good amount of business compare to others. We agree that internet has revolutionised the communication among people in terms cost & time. But when "social networking sites are claiming" as a good business generator it's a question of thinking! I think business owners who are using internet for last few years will be in right position to evaluate that "how much business" getting generated from "social network sites" ?

I feel if we calculate the amount of time we spend to update information in all those sites, It actually hardly anything until unless we get a very subject specific approach like alibaba.com, e-tigers.net etc. Or they are just good for social networking ! or just a craze !!

We often heard "we / you are not organised" or "we / you should get organised" … from top management to junior level executives. It’s very simple sentence, very easy to say, but very difficult to feel it.

I have just felt that twice in last three years with two different companies, and also seen the horrible result, which I took as a learning lesson from process & I would like to share the flavour with you all. In the recent recession many companies have reduced the head count in the name of cost cutting. But is that really a solution? I doubt! I strongly feel we are still not able to pin point the leakage.

If I take both the cases (I have been with) as "case study", I found one thing common…is "communication gap" between "business manager" & "project manager", and as a result repeated unplanned work cost huge time. I am not getting into who was right and who was wrong. What I feel is missing is a well defined process.

I also have experienced that in the name of doing something quicker (most of the time that happen because of unorganised pressure from management), we do same job again and again, and most of our allotted time get consumed, as a result things gets delayed.

Many small and middle size (including CMM level 3/4) companies lose huge amount of man days (finally money) in this way. Where I feel we / they are not able to use the techniques (technology), they are being used by process. Or I would say this side is often overlooked.

Now let me tell you that I was very lucky to be a part of a "well defined process" three and half years ago, which now gives me a clear idea about how a simple thing can make a huge difference. All small and middle size companies can save good amount of time by paying attention to that "simple" things.

I have been designing & developing a web based application for last 10 years, In first 2 years of my career i was completely into page designing using photoshop, corel, html, css and little bit javascript, I designed many pages, many website for different companies & individuals, later i got into programming asp, php, openscript..then asp.net for last 5 years, now I dont get a chance to play with webapge designing, most of the time go for middle tier development.

I always used think of a web page that will behave like a win form application, very stable, first response and a smooth interface. After knowing about jquery i just can't stop my self from page designing, So whenever i get a chance i try to make something using jquery.

Recent economic slowdown and its effect has made the time tougher for all small and middle size companies, Every company has changed their strategy to survive in the competition. Every company whether IT or non-IT, is trying to reduce cost in every possible way, in today’s market hiring or keeping resource permanent basis is a big risk, when we are not very sure about certainty of expected project. We have seen in our past experience that every organisation has to keep some certain number of resources ready to carry out their regular IT operation, and most of the time it happen that they don’t have sufficient work for each resources, but they have to pay them without any work / output, because they have no option! At this recession time this becomes really expensive.

In many places i read people are comparing WWF with Biztalk , honestly i don’t find any reason to compare.

WWF is a complete framework not a product.

WWF is a framework that provides the building blocks that needed to build workflow-based applications. WWF provides all base components to developers that they need to build any module which can be used to automate processes.

i am just trying to create a few small example by using WWF, which i feel might help people to understand the implementation to some extent.
